Hotmail selling your details - Porcupine (18/05/2002 10:54:33 AM) |
If you have a hotmail account you should change some key settings right now. The evil bastards at Microsoft have forced all hotmail users to sign up for junk mail, giving access to your account details to third party companies.
You can opt out but Microsoft is betting on user apathy. Don't let this happen to you!
Login to hotmail and go to Options : Personal Profile, then un-check the boxes at the bottom of that page. |

Does it make any difference? I don’t know about you but I’ve had at least 10 spam mails a day since I opened the damn hotmail account… Microsoft telling other companies to spam you won’t make a lick of difference to your day. If you don’t want spam you have to options: A) Guard your email addy with your life B) Don’t use email For all the hassle that is spam would you give up the convenience of instant mail delivery? Would you go back to the dark ages of looking for stamps and searching high and low for impossible to find red mailboxes that seem to only be in areas of the upper class because in lesser neighbour hoods where the kids can’t read so good they use the boxes to sleep in where they wake in the night to the sounds of dogs piddling on them.
Heh, god help us all if I get one more piece of spam!

Ya, well I submitted your email address to a couple sites to see what would happen. Thought they might be spammers, and behold - they were.
It's at this point I would like to remind you that revenge is really a weak thing to do and solves nothing. It won't even make you feel good, coz I will put on my sad face and bring everyone down.
Don't forget that I wrote this script and know the back door to wipe the whole database clean. I also know how to hack into your microwave and get it to alter your genetic code to that of a weasel (not too big an alteration in your case), so be nice. :)
OK, I didn't and can't do any of the above. As far as you know. But all it takes is one bad apple website submission and you are every spammers whore - taking it in the mail slot from whoever wants to give it to ya. It really is an invasion of privacy and the fact that microsoft is doing this on purpose to its own customers is just more weight on the already pulverised paraplegic camel.
If the porcupine gets cancer ... well, you all know.

Elsta - I like stamps - they are just soo, stampy.
Porcupine - How very Cameron Diaz/Charlie's Angels.
And once again MS is NOT EVIL! They are a lovely company that has recently changed their policy to send revenue to share holders. This gave me a warm fuzzy.
