Windows XP - a_greatchic (27/07/2002 9:32:38 PM) |
I have been using XP since about october 2001.. I thought it was da shit, but lately i have been freezing up everytime i have used photoshop, flash, even dreamweaver likes to shut down and freeze my computer. It seems i have massive hardware conflicts with XP, and USB ports.
I seems that my mouse - which is a "Microsoft Optical Intellimouse" yeh you got it, a microsoft product, another product that loves to takeover your system... being due to it being a USB connecting mouse - it likes to interfere with everything, and it is driving me nuts! Of course the sad part is i cannot go back to the ordinary mouse, so i battle on with unconclusive answers to how i go about fixing this.
I have unistalled the mouse software, dis connected the webcams and still i seem to get shafted everytime i use certain programs..
Dont bother with web cams, you will only have to re-boot until you can take it no more.. i find myself racing against time - for freezing computers dont warn you, and i have been silly enough to forget to save my work! yeh you got it i am the repeatist, you think i'd be good at what i do by now lol.. but hey we cant have it all.
I must re-try reformatting again - it was only 2 weeks ago i did it - but i have declared was on my hardware! Or else Win 2000 is goin back on... in which was running perfectly when i decided i must have XP.
Lesson: don't fix what aint broke! |

Halleluiah Baby, I get this a lot at work; dealing with XP in a network environment running Novell, Unix, NT and Active Dir is like being strung from your balls while a fat man in a cat suit prods at your neithers with a hot poker that bares a striking resemblance to Bill Gates flying windows logo. Now what’s worse then XP is XP home edition! It is so shit that when people come to me with new PC’s infected with XP Home to set up I usually scream and run for the nearest abandoned roof top to throw myself off. How could they have got it so so wrong? Some people tell me that it’s good to stay on the breach behind cutting edge technology as it’s safer there and if you find something you can’t deal with more then likely some poor misfortunate fuck has been there and spilt the blood so you can coast through on the experience of others… That’s true in this case! When Win2K came out I was on the bandwagon from day one… sure there where bugs, even blatant security oversights but the first thing you noticed was it was a step in the right direction, Microsoft finally had an OS that could compete with the likes of Red Hat, maybe not in the secure server arena but it was a desk top that would not fall over every time the wind changed. All in all and most importantly it was better then 98SE and that’s where I think XP has failed. It’s not a step forward it’s a jump back so far that for all general computing tasks win98se is a safer, faster, more fixable, flexible infestation of puss fuct rat Microsoft crap then the shit they scraped out of whatever orifice and stamped with the brand XP.
Ahhhg OK, I’m better now. I found my medication ;P
